| WOW what a turnout and evening!!! As WE raised $20,552 ROC III kicked off with Lynn from Mental Pause singing God Bless America, then right into some ROCK OLDIES. For a two-piece venture, Lynn and Jane filled the park with a great vibe and some classic music! But then again, if you know Lynn, you wouldn’t expect anything else…thanks so much for starting a great day! Mental Pause ROC’s! After Mental Pause we had a very special guest, Erica Finnegan, a 6-year-old cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with cancer at 10 months of age, thru some tough times she prevailed and is cancer free. She got up on stage and told her story then sang “Your Song” by Elton John. Lynn from Mental Pause got back up and played her guitar, while Erica sang. It was a very special moment and not a lot of dry eyes in the place! Hope many got to see this, for it was a true highlight of the day! Next up was local guys Crash N Burn!! Mike, Bo and the gang played some great party tunes and had the place singing along and rocking for their set. They were the perfect compliment to Mental Pause and lead into the next band. As always, great job boys, so glad you were able to help the cause, thanks so much!! After some raffle giveaways, it was time for the return of Alpha Dog to the Biergarten. As the sun was going down, Alpha Dog turned it UP! Playing rare classics from Robin Trower to Jimi (40th anniversary of his passing – 9/18/70) to Van Halen, the Dog was in top form, with JT Cane ripping it up in his Jimi-Inspired Purple Pants! Once again Alpha Dog surprised with their performance, imagine if they played all the time?? Ant, JT, Mike and Billy thanks so much again for donating your time to help Rock Out Cures!! WOOF! The last act of the night was Mixxed Company, and they brought the house down! Danny, Jess, Rena and Dwayne are a terrific band and they had the Biergarten up on their feet and ROCkin! Then if they weren’t enough, Rena’s husband John, from the band “Dream Theater” got up and jammed out Aerosmith’s classic Sweet Emotion to close the night! The cell phones and cameras were off and filming, what a great site! I can’t thank Mixxed Company and Mr. Petrucci enough for a wonderful performance and the cheri on the perfect day sundae! Thank you guys so much, it means the world to ROC! Rock Out Cures 2010 was a great night had by everyone I spoke with and people can’t wait for next year. Which is 09/24/11, mark them calendars!
